Seven Benefits of Sharing Your Faith, Part 3 of 7

The third benefit in becoming a sharing Christian is that you will experience the rewarding gratitude of those who have been saved. The Apostle Paul called the church he helped to plant at Philippi his joy and his crown (Philippians 4:1). Paul personally led many of them to faith. They were thankful to God and grateful to Paul. He was their spiritual parent. When you help someone come to faith, you will have that person's undying gratitude.

What I am describing is similar to the rewarding experience I had with my friend Steve. I was privileged to be one of several people who helped introduce Steve to Jesus. Steve and his whole family will never be the same. Steve became a changed man. He was no longer in bondage to alcohol. Steve saw over 100 other souls come to Christ in the first few years. When I saw Steve regularly he would tell me about the co-workers and neighbors he was sharing his new faith with. I loved it when he would call and tell me another person had been led to Christ. He told me several time how grateful he was for the people who came into his life and told him about Jesus.

It was not too many years ago when I was much like Steve. I was introduced to Jesus by a friend. He took the time and the chance to share with me and I will be forever grateful. He is no longer alive on this earth, but every soul and everything that is done in the name of Jesus by me, he has a part. He has a part because he brought Jesus to me. He will forever have my gratitude and undying friendship. As Jack Smith, former Associate Director for Personal Evangelism at the North American Mission Board said, “Friend’s don’t let friends drive drunk and friends don’t let friends miss heaven either.”

I challenge you today to make a commitment to be a sharing believer in Christ. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send "fields that are white unto harvest" across your path. Generally, people are more willing to hear about spiritual things than we are to share. Don't miss any more blessings. Tell God you will be a sharing Christian and to bring those who need to hear across your path.

Philipians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not rrebboy to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.[By humbling Himself, He emptied himself of His Godhood to be come a man and humbled himself on the Cross to take our place.]9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 14 Do all things WITHOUT MURMURINGS AND DISPUTINGS:v15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a CROOKED and PERVERSE nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

I've been really ceixted to see PV's mentality change just in the past year from bringing people INTO the church, to encouraging the church to go OUT. This year for Christmas, rather than doing the same Christmas program its done for over a decade, we've themed this Christmas Christmas to GO (picture a chinese to-go box as the image . Everyone in the Northland who has ever wnted to see The Singing Christmas Tree has come to PV to see it EXCEPT those who are homeless or in prison. So where are we taking the message of Christ? To the homeless and to prisons. I'm pretty ceixted about this I think this is one small way we see the Kingdom of God expanding in a real, and practical way.

I often believe that I have been such a disappointment. But, know that when God sees me he sees Jesus. But, here is what I often think about. If God sees Jesus who died for all of our sins, what does Jesus see when he looks down on earth. I try so very hard to be a good person and when I try really hard, I fail. But, when I run to Jesus to say I am sorry, he holds out his arms takes me into a tight hug and tells me it is okay. Go try again but, let me help you. Each day is better than the day before.
